Information and Communication Technology Unit

Objective
To provide expertise and services on application of ICT to the Secretariat.
The Unit will perform the following activities:-
(i) Acquire/ develop, maintain and update software system;
(ii) Establish and maintain LAN and WAN;
(iii) Provide trouble shooting services to the Secretariat;
(iv) Design and enforce system security;
(v) Facilitate e-Government and e-Business operation;
(vi) Develop data sharing policy in the Secretariat;
(vii) Manage IT system;
(viii) Pioneer the introduction of modern technologies in line with technological development;
(ix) Undertake studies and propose areas of using IT as an instrument to improve service delivery in the Secretariat;
(x) Install and upgrade the database servers and application tools;
(xi) Allocate system storage and planning for future storage requirements for the database systems;
(xii) Create primary database storage structures (table space) for different designed applications;
(xiii) Modify database structures as recommended by application;
(xiv) Coordinate linkage of Regional Databases; and
(xv) Manage and review MIS specifications and service contracts.
The Unit will be led by a Principal Computer Systems Analyst.
