REMUNERATION UNIT Objective To determine productivity based remuneration in the entire Public Service. The Unit will be responsible for the following activities: (i) Harmonize remuneration packages in the entire public service and make recommendations to the Standing Committees; (ii) Analyse and provide advice/recommendations on remuneration to all four Standing Committees i.e. Executive, Judiciary, Parliamentary and Disciplined staff including their Institutions; (iii) Analyse and provide advise on financial and non financial incentives in the Public Service; (iv) Collect, collate and analyse principles behind payment of allowances and provide guidelines; (v) Liaise with the relevant organs of Government in relation to budgetary provision for remuneration of Public Servants; (vi) Provide advice and inputs on the development and implementation of Pay Policy; (vii) Determine strategies to attract, retain and adequately motivate personnel with the requisite skills in the Public Service; (viii) Prepare and Submit annual performance reports to the Government on Public Sector remuneration; and (ix) Determine and advice on Public Service salary levels and remuneration packages based on tasks, responsibilities, functions carried out, skills and levels of qualification. The Unit will be led by an Assistant Secretary.
