Tanzania Public Service College was established in 2000 through the Executive Act No. 30 1997. TPSC is mandated to improve the quality efficiency and effectiveness of the Public Service of Tanzania by providing comprehensive training, consultancy and applied research interventions.

Since its establishment, the College has been offering various training in management and leadership training for middle and senior level to public servants and non-public servants as well as consultancies in various areas. Through these functions TPSC has managed to build capacity of the public servants ad non-public servants.

Public Service Reform Programme has continuously put pressure to TPSC to build public service capacity and transform itself into fully staff College. This direction is also reflected in the TPSC strategic plan and as initial efforts towards this direction; TPSC has continued to introduce new courses towards attaining that goal.

It is in light of the above that the Tanzania Public Service College is seen as an ideal service provider of knowledge capabilities relevant not only to reform programme but also as part of building culture of continuous learning for public servants.
