The Division is led by a Director and has three sections as follows:

e-GOVERNMENT BUSINESS SERVICES SECTION

  • Policies and Standards:

Develop and review Information and Communication Technology (ICT) standards and policies for the Public Service and dissemination of ICT policies and standards,

  • Project Definition and Management:

Initiate and manage ICT projects, provide sponsorship to ICT projects and manage liaison and communications with users, ensuring user and technical requirements are adequately understood and properly documented,

  • Procurements and Contract Management:

Establish and review ICT contracts for government ICT service and products.

e-GOVERNMENT SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION SECTION

  • Implementation Consultancy support to MDA’s in:
    • Applications Development
    • Database Development
    • Infrastructure selection and procurement advise.
  • Data Management
  • Operations:

Foster reliability by developing standards and guidelines on maintenance and proper management of equipment, storage devices, backup facilities, security arrangements, compliance to safety procedures, etc.

  • User Support Service:

Provide advice to MDA’s on how to setup and sustain “helpdesk” on proper management of equipment, storage devices, backup facilities, security arrangements, compliance to safety procedures, etc.

PO-PSM INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM SECTION

This section does the following:

  • Procurement and Maintenance Services,
  • Applications Development: Design new systems, configure software packages according to user requirements, provide ongoing system enhancement and modification services,
  • Database Development:

Design, develop and maintain database products according to user-specified needs,

  • Infrastructure Implementation: Advice on physical sites for computer system installations in order to provide a secure and safe environment, cabling schemes and, where relevant, network connections as well as setting up and maintaining the network infrastructure and required performance levels,
  • Data Management: Ensure data quality standards are achieved and maintained at target levels,
  • User Support Services: Sustain a "help-desk" facility and provide training services to new and ongoing users,
  • To assess the present position on ICT in PO-PSM,
  • To propose new ICT in PO-PSM and process, acquisitions and cost: To assess new ICT products.
  • To advice on the disposal of old equipment.
  • To supervise installation of new systems.
  • To manage and optimise all PO-PSM ICT systems.
