Complete and authentic records are crucial to informed decision-making and accountability. Records and archives management is, therefore, an issue that directly effects government operations and citizensâ€™ rights. The Division provides support to government ministries, agencies and departments, to enable them to better manage records, increasing efficiency and protecting the entitlements of the people of Tanzania.
The introduction of electronic systems, government computerisation, and e-government initiatives means that government records are increasingly being produced in electronic form. Electronic records management is presenting challenges to governments around the world. The Division is supporting government as it moves into the digital era.
