The government of Tanzania through the Records and Archives Management Division, has been improving records management in Tanzania since the 1990s, including the restructuring of records management systems in the Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) under the Public Service Reform Programme (PSRP). The Division also aided in the establishment of a records management scheme of service for the records cadre (Records Officers and Records Management Assistants).
